British Team Wants To Win America’s Cup

The greatest prize in the sailing world is the America’s Cup. The British sailing team led by Ben Ainslie wants to grab their hands on the Auld Mug and bring it home. Sir Ben is the most successful Olympic sailor and has won medals consecutively for five Olympics. This is a rare feat and he is now looking forward to the British team making a valiant effort to win the prestigious and most popular sailing event, the America’s Cup.

Sir Ben is relishing the chance of being part of the British team looking to win the Auld Mug. If the team is successful in winning the America’s Cup, this would be a very big achievement. Sir Ben Ainslie said that his dream as a youngster was to win a medal at the Olympics and to win the America’s Cup for his homeland.

Ainslie formed the Ben Ainslie Racing (BAR) in 2014 after sailing in Croatia and looked to race money for his team through funding from senior executives. He has achieved all that from sponsors, individuals and partners. Ainslie and his team have tasted good success in this year’s America’s Cup World Series.

The next year’s America’s Cup will take place in Bermuda in early January. The BAR team is focused on that racing event and are looking to be a serious threat to the current America’s Cup holder, the Oracle Team USA. The American team is a very strong team with its skipper James Spithill being the young helmsman to win the America’s Cup at the age of 30.

Ben acknowledges that the Americans are the favorites for winning the cup and they are already in the final. He feels that they are the team that everyone is looking to beat and he thinks that they can be beaten. The BAR team is in the America’s Cup to win it.
